Rusty is a perfectly average guy with a passion for railway maintenance. When war broke out, he sought refuge on planets light years away from Cybertron with some close buddies. Rusty's only interaction with either faction involved shipping supplies made from the resources harvested from uninhabited planets to Autobot soldiers. He would later return to help with post-war reconstruction efforts in the ruins of an underfunded mountainous village.

Rusty is an honest mech with a sarcastic sense of humor and pragmatic attitude, but is capable of providing empathy and support when needed. Homesickness affects him much more strongly than most others and it never fully left him, even after returning to his home planet. It probably wouldn't hurt him to take a little better care of his outer frame. Currently raising several adopted kiddos with Predaking.

Aligned Continuity

Prior to the outbreak of the Great War, Rusty left Cybertron as part of a civilian expedition with friends, choosing voluntary off-world travel over the increasing political unrest. As a result, he avoided direct involvement in the early years of the Autobot-Decepticon conflict.

During the war, Rusty remained off-planet, doing engineering work across several previously uninhabited planetary colonies. His contributions during this time carried some military relevance, as he helped oversee the shipment of supplies to Autobot soldiers, but mostly focused on helping create a comfortable shelter for fellow Cybertronian refugees. Records from this period are inconsistent, though it is known that Rusty returned to Cybertron shortly after the war came to a halt, aiding in the reconstruction efforts all throughout the planet.

Once reintegrated into post-war Cybertronian society, Rusty took on the responsibility of aiding restoration work, particularly in the outskirts of ruined towns and cities where much had been left uninhabitable for countless years. His current project involved relocation to the mountainous regions, joined by not only old allies but also the newly revived Predacons, Darksteel, Skylynx, and Predaking, who sought coexistence with other Cybertronians after dissociating with Shockwave and the other Decepticons. Despite initial complications, Rusty and his buddies steadily established a positive relationship with the Predacons.

At present, Rusty continues to reside in the mountain range alongside the Predacons and returning refugees.

Predaking - Conjunx Endura

"I ain't the type to get all poetic about someone, least I thought I wasn't, but he's... somethin' else. Big, sure– can't really miss him. But there’s a steadiness and gentleness to the way he carries himself that makes you feel like the world's not gonna fall apart anytime soon. I don’t think he fully realizes how much good he does just by bein' around. Took a while to get to know him proper, but I think it was worth it. Yeah, I like him. A lot."

Sinewave - Friend

"Sharp as a blade and twice as dangerous when she's got a fancy lab tool in her servo. Girl's been through it, no doubt about that, but she's still got plenty spark left in her– just needed someone to remind her of that. I like talkin' to her when she's up for it. We’ve got different kinds of smarts, but we mesh alright. Someday I've gotta ask her about all the embarrassing nicknames she gave my big guy back in the day."

Design Notes

- Mostly just shades of brown, dull red, and dark grey. Not a very flashy guy aside from his bright red optics and biolights.

- Works too hard. Carries various utility pouches that are pretty much a permanent part of his look at this point.

- Various dents and scratches on his armor. Though he's not neglectful of his frame, his paint is far from pristine and has notable signs of sun-bleaching from being outside most of the time. Has a "weathered but well-loved" sort of look to him in vehicle mode.

- Dark circles under his eyes
